The Chattanooga Zoo will host the third annual Party for the Planet event on Saturday, April 25, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at their location in Warner Park.
Guests will join Marvel Comic character Wolverine and be a hero for the planet, while learning about the environment, conservation, protecting wildlife and preserving the Earth. In addition, booths will be set-up throughout the Zoo with information about outdoor activities, making sound environmental decisions and protecting wildlife.
“Being a part of a national initiative that celebrates our wonderful Planet Earth is a privilege and an honor,” said Zoo Executive director Darde Long. “It has made Earth Day a real Party for our Planet, and allows us to call attention to important conservation projects and ideas both locally and globally. Plus, we get to host cool characters like Wolverine, who encourages everyone to be a hero for the planet."
Families will also have the opportunity to plant seedlings provided by The Doubletree Hotel either at the Zoo or at home, and children can take part in coloring a reusable mural provided by Tennessee American Water.
Zoo members receive free admission to this event and must present their membership card at the Zoo entrance. General admission tickets will be $6 adults, $4 seniors (65 and over) and $3 children (Ages 3-15). For more information call 697-1319 or visit zoo.chattanooga.org.
