State Rep. Gerald McCormick said Monday he will not run for the U.S. House seat being vacated by Rep. Zach Wamp.
Rep. McCormick said, “While I am honored by the interest expressed in a potential candidacy by people that I respect very much, I do want to make it clear to the people of the 26th State House District that I have decided not to run for Congress in 2010.”
Paula Flowers, former state commissioner of commerce and insurance, is a Democratic candidate.
Attorney Chuck Fleischmann of Chattanooga and Sheriff Tim Gobble of Bradley County are announced Republican candidates.
