Child Porn Charges Against Michael W. Campbell Bound Over To Grand Jury

Tuesday, June 23, 2009 - by Judy Frank

The case against a 45-year-old Soddy-Daisy man charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of minors was bound over to the Hamilton County Grand Jury Tuesday morning.

Michael Wayne Campbell also is charged with possession of both marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The charges grow out of a search of Campbell’s home at 2018 Jacqueline Dr. on May 29 by Hamilton County Sheriff’s Detective Mike Cox, after a search warrant was obtained based on complaints that the suspect had altered photographs of a 10-year-old girl in order to make them sexually explicit.

The girl’s father, a friend of the suspect, had provided investigators with “pictures that he found inside the (Campbell) residence of his daughter, including a picture of his bed where someone had taken a picture of his daughter’s panties,” and reported that he had seen more photos on Campbell’s camera.

During the search, 31 sexually explicit and altered photos of three juvenile girls were found.

“(S)ix sexually explicit photographs of two confirmed minor girls were located in the living room area of the residence, along with cut-out photographs of the heads of the victims,” Detective Cox said in his affidavit of complaint.

“Other items of evidence were taken including a camera, two computers, a computer print station, numerous photos of other possible child pornography, pornographic magazines and other assorted items,” he reported.

“In the suspect’s bedroom, in a night stand next to his bed, a small clear bag of suspected marijuana, marijuana roaches, a one-hitter marijuana smoking pipe and rolling papers were also located.”

“After investigation, an additional juvenile was identified as being under the age of 19 and was depicted in 12 sexually explicit altered photos in which her face as pasted onto nude bodies of other females of undetermined ages,” the detective wrote.

“Additionally, 13 more sexually explicit and altered photographs of the 10-year-old child were located within the . . . Campbell residence.”

We Are Blessed To Have Ron Littlefield As Our Mayor

Chattanooga is blessed beyond measure to have Ron Littlefield as our mayor.  It is a total travesty our city has had to endure the long frivolous battle with absolutely  no foundation other than disagreement with policy issues.  It has always been a vendetta directed personally at Mayor Littlefield which, if the "interveners" decide to appeal, will be a proven fact.   ... If “time is money,” the whole deal cost us millions of dollars and even more ... (click for more)
