It's Been Fun, Bill

Saturday, June 27, 2009

The end of yet another era has occurred this week. I would like to wish Bill Markham of WRCB Channel 3 Eyewitness News a very happy retirement.

I grew up watching you, Bill. You and Cindy Sexton were a daily part of my life for so very many years.

Channel 3 just won't be the same without you, and there will be those of us who will miss your kind face and friendly voice so very much.

You have done such wonderful things for this community and have had such a successful career in broadcasting, yet through it all you have remained very friendly, humble, and the kind of person that while he made it big, never forgot where he came from.

As you move on to retirement, I hope you find all the joy and all the fulfillment that you obviously found in broadcasting.

Happy retirement Bill. You've truly earned it, and you deserve it. Enjoy it.

Warmest Wishes

Mariah Smith
