Margaret Evans has been chosen the 2009 Northwestern Technical College Instructor of the Year.
Ms. Evans came to NTC in January of 2006 to begin the state’s only social work assistant program.
She also served as an instructor at Southern Adventist University, Lincoln Memorial University, Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis, and Georgia State University.
Ms. Evans has served as the director of several large social work organizations, including the National Association of Social Workers.
The Chattanooga resident earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Wayne State University in 1973 and her Master’s Degree in Social Work and Administration from the University of Michigan in 1976.
Ms. Evans has written multiple publications and works in regards to the field of social work. Evans has been recognized and honored for her work in several states over the past three decades. The NTC instructor has also served on social work advisory boards in several states over the same time frame.
