The Partnership for Families, Children and Adults has constructed a playground for children and families receiving services through the Family Violence Shelter. The playground was built by community and corporate volunteers on May 30 and has been in use by Partnership client families since that time.
The Partnership’s Crisis Resource Center received $15,000 in funds from the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Alliance for the project.
Over 130 volunteer hours were contributed for the playground installation.
Partners for the project, in addition to the Medical Alliance, were the Habitat for Humanity of Chattanooga, Northwest Georgia Bank Navigators, Brainerd Baptist Church, Don Howard Construction, EPB, Earthworks and Ace Hardware.
“Each year the Crisis Resource Center provides crisis intervention services, emergency hotlines, counseling shelter, advocacy and referral services to more than 3,000 individuals and families,” said Holly Ashley of the Partnership. “Many of these services are staffed 24 hours a day and are prepared to assist a client or victim in a moment’s notice. The playground will give families living in the Family Violence Shelter a safe, outdoor area to play.”
The Partnership is a non-profit agency that has been empowering people to build better lives through counseling, crisis intervention and education programs for 133 years.
A United Way member agency, the Partnership is accredited by the National Council on Accreditation.
