Freda Ann North, 74, died on Wednesday, July 1, 2009.

She will be remembered as a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and was a very active member of East Ridge Baptist Church.

She always thought of others and looked for every opportunity to send a thoughtful card or note to those who needed encouragement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ruby Elliott whom she loved with all of her heart.

Survivors include her husband of almost 56 years, Jim North; children, Renee (Darrell) McKaig of East Ridge, Rod (Lois) North of East Ridge and Rhonda (John) Ward of Murfreesboro, Tn.; brother, Will (Jimmie) Elliott of Signal Mountain, Tn.; six grandchildren, Brian McKaig, Jordan and Natalie North, and Sydney, Ethan and Ryan Ward; nephews, Tim (Cheri) Elliott and Phil (Rachel) Elliott.

We, the family will miss this beautiful, loving and kind woman for the rest of our lives.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 3, at the funeral home chapel with Dr. Ronnie Mitchell officiating.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Monday at 10:30 a.m. for a procession to Chattanooga National Cemetery where Mrs. North will be buried at 11 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Tim Elliott, Phil Elliott, John Ward, Darrell McKaig, Brian McKaig and John Miller.

Man Tells Police He Just Murdered His Wife

Ammonia Leak At BASF On Amnicola Highway Causes Major Traffic Backups
