2 Shot At Chiropractor's Office On Signal Mountain

Couple Rushed To Hospital After Incident At Ashley Plaza

Friday, July 10, 2009 - by Judy Frank

A man and a woman were rushed to Erlanger Hospital Friday morning following a shooting at a chiropractor's office on Signal Mountain.

Signal Mountain Police spokesman Captain Gregg Hall said he did not know the identities of the victims, or their medical conditions.

However, unofficial reports from workers in neighboring businesses indicated that the chiropractor, Dr. Terrence M. Loher, was one of the victims.

The other reportedly was his ex-wife.

"There were lots of fights about child custody, things like that,"
one woman in a nearby bank said.

"I hate this," said a man standing on the parking lot of First Tennessee Bank. "Terry is a really nice guy."

Captain Hall said the last time he talked to Chief Boyd Veal about the incident "the woman was alive and talking."

He said that conversation occurred shortly after officers were summoned to the scene.

The shooting took place around 9:30 a.m. inside the Signal Mountain Chiropractic Clinic, which is located in a small office/business complex known as Ashley Plaza. Police have roped off the entire property, including the parking lot.

Three cars were roped off, and Captain Hall said he believes one of them belongs to one of the two victims
