Money Is Behind The Global Warming Fiasco

Friday, July 17, 2009

Ten years ago, we were being deluged with unending reports on the coming horror that would be created by Y2K. Billions of dollars were spent to correct an imaginary problem. Then on that long predicted moment when Jan. 1, 2000, came and passed, nothing happened.

Some would argue that nothing happened because of all the money spent to prevent anything from happening. But, those who did nothing came out as good as those who spent millions. It was all a farce.

Then there was the hysteria about El Niño. Now, El Niño was real, but it was nothing new. It has existed as a weather cycle as long as weather has been recorded.

Now we are being deluged with a new crisis - man-made global warming. If a scientist dares to question this theory of man-made CO2 causing a coming world disaster, that scientist is accused of being on the payroll of the big energy companies or of just being incompetent. No dissension is allowed in the discussion. Open scientific dialog is forbidden. Even our President has stated that scientific debate on this matter is closed.

Is it really closed? Is it really scientific? Any time political correctness demands that open discussion from both sides cannot be part of the debate, true science goes out the window.

One of the main documents used to support global warming is the United Nations report IPCC, 2007: Summary for Policymakers. In: Climate Change. This report was written by 52 scientists who support the man-made global warming theory. At present the U.S. Senate Minority Report of dissenting scientists who do not accept the concept of our present global warming disaster, carries the names of over 700 prominent scientists. That is over 13 times more than those who signed the UN report.

It doesn’t take a scientist to see good reason to question the global warming theory. Science has taught us that, thousands of years ago, there was an ice age. If that is correct, then this old world has been warming up for a long time. And, we should be glad it did or we would all be Eskimos. By the way, there was no man-made CO2 around way back then to cause the melting of the ice.

What is behind the global warming fiasco? The usual, money.

Cap and Trade (also known as Cap and Tax) legislation will be the largest indirect tax increase in the history of mankind. This legislation that has passed the House and is now before the Senate, if passed, will cost the average American household between $3,000 and $4,000 per year in increased energy cost. This will hit the poor, the middle class, and the wealthy alike. All of us use multiple forms of energy.

In the name of saving the world from fictitious global warming, our present government will keep their promise to not increase your tax on April 15 by indirectly increasing your tax all 365 days of the year.

A Good School Takes Involvement

As I have read the articles concerning Normal Park School I can’t keep from thinking when our children started to school in the 1960‘s.
