6 Officers Involved In Fatal Shooting Are On Paid Leave

The six Chattanooga Police officers involved in the fatal shooting of Alonzo Heyward early Saturday morning are on seven days administrative leave.

Officers Lauren Bacha, Deborah Dennison, Zachery Moody, George Romero, William Salyers and Bryan Wood were placed on paid leave according to Chattanooga Police Department policy.

The investigation of the circumstances surrounding Mr. Heyward’s death is underway with the medical examination scheduled for today.

Police said, "As details of the investigation become available, they will be released."

The officers’ information is listed as follows:

Officer Deborah Dennison- Fox Zone 3rd shift Hired in 1998 as a dispatcher; became an officer on Feb 9, 2007

Officer Lauren Bacha- Fox Zone 3rd shift Hired Oct. 19, 2007

Officer Zachery Moody- Fox Zone 3rd shift Hired Aug. 6, 2004

Officer George Romero Fox Zone 3rd shift Hired Oct. 19, 2007

Officer William Salyers Fox Zone 3rd shift Hired Jun. 9, 2006
