Wilma Jean Rodriguez Farris, 54, of Dalton, Ga., died Wednesday afternoon, July 1, 2009 at the Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.

Wilma was born December 18, 1954 in Sweetwater, Tn.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Louise Ingram Dotson; and son, Robert Leon Carver.

She is survived by her father, Cecil Farris of Athens, Tn.; special companion, Carlos Aguilar Solis; daughters and sons-in-law, Mechelle and Sergio Giron, Letisia and Ismael Garcia-Sanchez, Lana Lopez, Rosa Farris; grandchildren, Veronica Giron, Avie Giron, Brianna Giron, Adam Garcia, Christian Garcia, Dasia Garcia, Jose Lopez, Rebecah Lopez all of Dalton; several brothers and sisters.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Wilma Jean Rodriguez Farris will be held Monday, July 6, at 10 a.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Russell Snyder and Sergio Giron officiating. She will be laid to rest at the New Hope Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Madisonville, Tn. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 9 p.m. Sunday, July 5.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to the family to help with expenses.

Woman Shot Up To 8 Times In East Chattanooga Murder

Chattanooga Police pfficers responded Monday night to 1907 Daisy St. in East Chattanooga on a report of a woman who had been shot.  When they arrived around 9 p.m., they found a female inside the business who had been shot 4-6 times.
