Hamilton County residents may be facing taking three flu shots this fall - including two for the new swine flu strain, Becky Barnes, county health department administrator, said Thursday.
Ms. Barnes told the County Commission she has been advised that it may be necessary to take more than one shot for the swine flu.
Residents would still be advised to take the regular flu shot as well.
She said the swine flu remains active locally.
Ms. Barnes told the commission that other flu strains have died down in the hot summer months, but not this one.
She said the county should not face costs for the swine flu vaccinations except for providing the manpower to administer the shots.
She said the federal government should provide the vaccine and other supplies.
