John Woodrow Poole, Sr., died Friday, July 3, 2009 at Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga.

John was born December 9, 1926 in Sale Creek, Tn. to the late John R. Poole and Clara (Fox) Poole. He was also preceded in death by his wife Jacquetta “Jackie” (Jordan) Poole; brothers, Earl, Riley, Creed, Archie and Ed Poole; and sisters, Robbie Dean Higdon and Clara Wynn.

John served his country with the U.S. Navy during World War II. in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Daisy United Methodist Church and loved to play the guitar. He had been employed with Lupton City, Olin Conductors, American Electric and Robinson’s Manufacturing Company.

John is survived by his son John W. (Linda) Poole, Jr.; granddaughter Rebecca (Peter) Conrad; and great- granddaughter Riley Elizabeth Conrad, all of Sale Creek.

Funeral services for John will be held Monday, July 6, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lonnie Eldridge and Rev. Jim Purser officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Rhea Memory Gardens.

Mother Of Man Charged With Killing Sgt. Chapin Given Prison Sentence Of 30 Years, 6 Months
