Henry Kenneth "Kent" Earley, 50, of Dalton, died on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at his residence.

Kent was born May 4, 1959 in Murray County, Ga., a son of the late Wilburn Earley and Dorothy Saylors Noland. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Rogers and Pete Noland; step-mother, Alma Earley; and step-father Vernon Noland.

Kent was a devoted associate professor of Allied Health Programs for twenty years at Dalton State College. The care, love and devotion he showed for his students, co-workers and community will never be forgotten. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved his family very much.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle Lee Earley of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law Kyle and Brittany Earley; granddaughter Haven Jennifer Earley; mother of his son, Sandra Silvers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alvie and Sheila Earley, Chuck and Connie Earley; sister, Patsy Rogers all of Chatsworth, Ga.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Peggy and Radio Beaty of Cleveland; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Debbie and Mike Roper of Dalton, Julie and Drew Allen of McDonough, Ga. and Donnie King of Dalton; special friends, Lamar, Gail and Ethan Womac, Carolyn Jensen and family, Kathy Miller and family and Peggy McKinney; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Kent Earley will be held Tuesday, July 7, at 3 p.m. at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home. Family and friends will share life stories and memory. He will be laid to rest in the Murray Memorial Gardens with Richard Smith, Casey Earley, Lamar Womac, Drew Allen, Andrew Goswick, Jason Parker will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 9 p.m. Sunday, July 5, and 6 until 9 p.m. on Monday, July 6.
