Additional Charges Filed In Lookout Mountain Burglaries

Monday, July 06, 2009

One of two men charged in a June 25 burglary at Lookout Mountain, Tn., has been charged with four more break-ins in the town three days earlier.

Toney Pruitt, 21, and Prentice Toney, 22, had been arrested after a woman called police and said she saw two men carrying off items from her neighbor's house.

The break-in was at the Harold Weeks residence on East Sunset Road.

Pruitt and Toney were charged with aggravated burglary and theft over $1,000 in that case.

Lookout Mountain Police said there also had been four burglaries three days earlier.

Pruitt is now charged in those burglaries.

Those were at the residences of Dalton Mook on N. Forrest Avenue, Jane Hunt on Laurel Lane, David Dodson on Wautauga Lane and Robert Caldwell on Scenic Highway.

Pruitt is represented by attorney Cris Helton.

Pruitt, who is out on bond, is due back in General Sessions Court on Aug. 4.

In the June 25 incident, police said they received a call at 12:20 p.m. from a woman who was watching with binoculars as two black males carried a TV and other items from the Weeks home.

The woman was able to see the tag number with her binoculars.

The Lookout Mountain Police had four vehicles in the area and spotted the vehicle by the playground area on Scenic Highway. The vehicle was stopped and Pruitt and Toney were taken into custody.

Police said Pruitt admitted going into the Weeks home.
