Cheers For BiBa's In Hixson

Wednesday, July 08, 2009

Complaints are so easy to spread but you hardly every hear compliments, especially about restaurant service.

I wanted to give a big compliment to BiBa's in Hixson for a wonderful dinner I had last night. My family has eaten there at least five time since it recently opened and were more than pleased with the food and the service, but last night's dinner was exceptional because of the attentiveness of the staff.

At Biba's I always order the brushetta but have them prepare it without the garlic. My waitress delivered it promptly but came back to the table before I had time to begin eating to tell me that she had asked the cook to make sure he remembered to make the dish without garlic. He told her that it was not possible to make it without garlic. She apologized and asked if I wanted her to take the dish back and order something else.

I explained that the cook had been able to accomodate this same order on the last four times I visited their restaurant, but I would just eat what had been delivered. I did thank her for her efforts in making sure I got what I ordered. Within a few minutes the manager delivered my brushetta without garlic and apologized for the problem with the original order.

Needless to say, I left a very big tip for that wonderful waitress for going the extra mile by telling the manager about the problem, who also promptly made sure the cook knew how to properly make the brushetta according to the customer's order.

I guess I was especially amazed with Biba's service because I had just read a very disturbing email last week about another area restaurant's extreme rudeness to their customers. By contrast, I see that Biba's certainly understands the value of treating the customer with respect--I know that our family will continue to look forward to eating at Biba's.

The two elementary schools in the city that were considered tops were Barger and Woodmore. We did not live in the zone for either school so we looked for a house to buy that was zoned for Woodmore.   We found ... (click for more)
