Blue Tornado QB Rush Injures Knee

T.J. Kemp ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns on Friday night in leading McCallie past Providence Day, 38-12, in a high school football game at Spears Stadium.

Kemp had 18 rushes, including touchdown runs of 2 and 20 yards. McCallie had 55 rushes for 350 yards in the game.

It was the season opener for both schools.

Jarrod Coleman added 70 yards on 10 carries for McCallie while Daniel McClure had eight rushes for 70 yards. Keenon Rush ran for 60 yards on 11 attempts and completed 3-of-6 passes for 30 yards.

Rush also scored on a 5-yard run for McCallie while Trent Lusk had a 1-yard touchdown run and John Burkus a 22-yard touchdown run.

Rush injured his right knee on a run in the third quarter. He was on crutches afer the game.

Arturo Rocha kicked a 47-yard field goal for McCallie and Hudson Brock was 5-for-5 on point-after kicks.

Josh Covington had touchdown runs of 10 and 4 yards for Providence Day from Charlotte, which took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter and then led, 12-7, in the second quarter.

Cody Pritchett had an interception for McCallie.

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt.
