Baylor Opens New Red Etter Field With 40-0 Win Over FRA

Baylor played its first game on the new turf at Heywood Stadium on Friday night and earned a 40-0 victory over Franklin Road Academy.

Baylor switched from natural grass to "cool grass" AstroTurf this season and named the new turf the E.B. "Red" Etter Field in honor of its former coach.

Baylor's new all-weather, seven-lane Rekortan track encircles Red Etter Field.

After a scoreless first half, Baylor turned it on in the second half in the first game of the new season for both teams.

Sam Williams got the scoring under way for Baylor with a 76-yard run. Also scoring touchdowns for the Red Raiders were John Mackey, Jacob Huesman, Nelson Pinkstaff, Chris Hartfield nd Chuck Hudson.

Williams had six rushes for 99 yards for Baylor, while new quarterback Huesman, a junior, had eight carries for 85 yards. Huesman, son of new UTC football coach Russ Huesman, also completed 11-of-17 passes for 157 yards.

Michael Trundle had four catches for 71 yards for Baylor and Josh Ernest added three receptions for 47 yards.

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt.
