The Chattanooga History Center will present, due to popular demand, a repeat of its June Cherokee Trail of Tears Bus Tour, on Saturday, Aug. 22.
The History Center’s Executive Director and Curator, Dr. Daryl Black will serve as tour guide. The bus will depart from the History Center, 615 Lindsay Street, at 9:30 a.m., and return at 5 p.m. The fee is $65.
The bus will stop for participants to have lunch in a restaurant, but the cost of lunch is not included in the fee. Registration, accompanied by payment of the fee, is required by Aug. 17.
This day-long bus tour will visit sites related to the Cherokee people’s Trail of Tears experience, including New Echota, Red Clay, Charleston, Tn., Blythe’s Ferry, and Ross’ Landing.
