Red Bank's New Senior Program Is Great

Monday, September 21, 2009

My wife and I had an opportunity to visit the new senior program at the Red Bank community center on Thursday. The program is open to seniors from 10a.m. - 2p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays. The new facility is beautiful, clean, large, well equipped, well designed and has enough windows to make it feel like you are outside,

The program is a joint venture between Red Bank, Erlanger hospital, Alexian Brothers and Siskin. Present activities include an exercise/ fitness program with a professional instructor from Siskin (10:30- 11:30a.m.), health screenings (10- 11:30a.m.), arts n’ crafts, bingo, card games, ceramics, puzzles, games, book reading club, nature walks, music by guest musicians/ singers and free lunch. Mind/body programs include Tai Chi or Yoga for a fee of $5 per session. A weight/nutrition management series starts October 8 through December 17. Suggestions for other activates are encouraged.

McDonalds in Red Bank furnishes all the great coffee and cups as well as gift certificates used in prize packages. Area business’s that would like to donate are welcome and should call 788-3366.

By the way, did I mention lunch is free?
