The Salvation Army is one of several United Way agencies that will be at the East Ridge Civic Center on Monday and Tuesday to assist East Ridge residents whose homes and apartments were damaged by this week’s floodwaters.
A “Social Service Center” will be open Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to offer assessments and assistance. Flood cleanup kits will also be available at the site.
The East Ridge Center is located on Tombras Avenue next to City Hall.
Meanwhile, the Chattanooga Salvation Army will continue serving meals from its mobile kitchens into the weekend to those East Ridge residents who are returning to their flood-damaged homes.
On Monday, the Salvation Army is holding a donation drive at its East Ridge and Fort Oglethorpe Family Stores. Anyone wishing to make a donation of clothing, personal care items, non-perishable food items and bottled water may drop these off at the Family Stores at Belvoir and Ringgold Roads in East Ridge or at 1809 Battlefield Parkway in Fort Oglethorpe.
The Salvation Army is asking local residents who wish to make monetary donations to help defray disaster-related expenses to mail these to The Salvation Army, 822 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN, 37403, or to donate online at www.csarmy.org.
