Elizabeth McCright, who has headed the Chattanooga Housing Authority since the departure of Bob Dull in May 2008, has been given a two-year employment contract by the CHA board.
Ms. McCright will earn $104,000 under the agreement.
Attorney Larry Cash said the contract will automatically renew on a year-to-year basis after the two years unless the board decides differently.
Ms. McCright was the chief operating officer when Mr. Dull moved on.
She receives a $400 monthly vehicle allowance and $50 for cell phone usage.
The CHA introduced a new chief financial officer and treasurer.
Philippe T. Lindsay is a CPA who did consulting work for CHA in recent months.
Earlier, he was involved in auditing 70 public housing agencies across the country.
The board re-elected Eddie Holmes as chairman and Jim Sattler as vice chairman.
