Playing at Tennessee Christian Preparatory School, the TCPS high school boys outscored Mt. View Christian Academy 58-43. This was their second meeting of the season.

During the course of the game, the Hawks had 15 rebounds and 12 steals.

Sam McDonald was the leading rebounder, picking up six, and also made the most picks, ending the game with five steals. Lead scorer Caleb Parchman scored 20 points and Andrew Thomas followed with 14, 9 of his points scored behind the three-point line. Jordan Robinson was the lead scorer for Mt. View, with 13 points.

The Hawks are now 9-8 and have two more games. Their last regular season home game, which is also senior night, will be on February 2 against Liberty Christian from Athens, TN. The Hawks' final game of the season will be against Boyd-Buchanan on February 5.

The Lady Hawks defeated Mt. View Christian Academy 46-39. The Lady Hawks won the tight game despite being down one player, Karen Flatt, who has been a huge asset to the team this year.

Leading the Lady Hawks offense was Lydia Pippenger, who scored 17 points and also picked up 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Natalie Calfee had a solid contribution, scoring 4 points and grabbing 5 rebounds and 1 steal.

"Tonight was a battle," said TCPS coach Tawnie Locklear. "This was a different team from when we faced them before. They were much tougher tonight, so we had to play even harder. I have been proud of my team all season, but tonight was especially rewarding. I was so proud of how well these girls played as a team and played with heart. They were able to keep control of the game and finish strong with the victory."

Also for the Hawks, Jessica Merrill scored 8 points and had 9 rebounds, three steals and two blocks; Katie O'Malley scored four points and picked up three rebounds and 3 steals; Tabitha Frady scored seven points and grabbed four rebounds and 3 steals; Neeley Benton had three rebounds and two steals; and Kaite Beasley scored six points to complement her five rebounds, a steal and two blocks.

The Lady Hawks are now 11-3. Their next home game is Tuesday, February 2, against Liberty Christian at 6 p.m.


Lady Mocs Tennis Team Remains Undefeated

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team remained undefeated with a 5-2 win at Murray State today. Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon.
