Zach Wamp, Republican candidate for governor, announced today that he has more than doubled his fund-raising totals by raising well over $1.3 million more for his campaign since the middle of last year.
“I am very thankful for the support we’ve received from so many hard-working Tennesseans who have contributed so generously to our campaign all across the state,” Rep. Wamp said. “And I could not be more pleased that our momentum is just beginning to take off right when some of the other campaigns are starting to lag. We are clearly the campaign on the move. And we are going to win.”
He said he will report on Monday that he raised $1,318,022.20 during the most recent reporting period which ended Jan. 15. That total is ahead of the $1,253,190.36 his campaign raised during the first reporting period that ended on June 30 of last year.
Rep. Wamp’s report will show $2,571,212.56 as the grand total raised for his gubernatorial campaign through the Jan. 15 reporting deadline.
His staff said, "Unlike several other campaigns, Wamp’s fundraising totals also do not include any transfers or roll-over funds from previous campaigns or campaign committees."
Rep. Wamp said, “I have now visited and campaigned in all 95 counties across our state, and voters are hungry for ideas to help get folks back to work and to get our economy moving again. That’s why our 20/20 Vision for Tennessee is taking hold, why our volunteer ranks are growing, and why we now have nearly every county in the state organized and ready to go.
“We have the people and the momentum on our side, and it will be the people and their enthusiasm, not just the money, that will decide who will become the next Governor of Tennessee.”
