The James County Historical Society will meet Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Location is the Ooltewah United Methodist Church.
The program will be about the Wells Cemetery on Snow Hill Rd – it was recently damaged by development.
The program will be presented by Carolyn Tallant, a Wells descendant, and Randy Sticher who called attention to graves being relocated.
James County was formed in 1871 from a tiny portion of western Bradley County and the eastern third of Hamilton County. The move was in response to the county seat being moved from Harrison to Chattanooga.
James County went bankrupt in 1919, and lands were returned to Hamilton County.
