In a meeting of undefeated teams, the state's top-ranked Bradley Central Bears defeated host and No. 11 Hixson, 52-12, Tuesday night at the Hixson Middle School gym.

The Bears (6-0) won 12 of the 14 weight classes, including four by fall, two by major decision and one by technical fall.

“I thought we looked good tonight and our guys wrestled aggressively,'' said Bradley Central head coach Steve Logsdon.

“We didn't wrestle very well from the bottom position at our tournament before Christmas and our coaches really stressed the need for improvement in that area tonight and we saw good results.''

Hixson's wins came via a fall by Justin Matheison (171) and a forfeit to Logan Vandergriff (119).
The Wildcats are 15-1 on the season.

“Bradley wrestled well tonight and not taking anything away from them, and we didn't,'' said Hixson head coach Garrick Hall.

“We did pretty good in spots, but we must wrestle better on Thursday and this weekend in the Greenville tournament,'' he said.

Fastest Fall: at :39
At 103, Bradley's Jacob Climer stopped My Lee in 39 seconds.

Best Match I: at 285, Bradley's Patrick Benson used a takedown with :08 seconds remaining in the third period to defeat Alphonso Smith, 4-3 … Smith escaped to open the third for a 3-2 lead, but then received a warning for stalling … a second warning would have resulted in a point for Benson.

Best Match II: at 145 – Bradley's Vinee Aguilar dec. Curtis Flanagan, 8-6 … Aguilar led 6-3 after two periods and 8-3 early in the third before Flanagan had an escape and a take down in the final 10 seconds to close within two.

Busy Schedule: Bradley is at Walker Valley (1/7), at SD Duals (1/8), Soddy Daisy Invite (1/9) and then hosts Greenback (1/12) and crosstown rival Cleveland (1/14).

Hixson hosts Sequatchie County & Whitwell (1/7) before traveling to the Greenville Invite (1/9), followed by a quad meet at Chattanooga Central (1/12) and a home meet with Notre Dame (1/14).

We Are Blessed To Have Ron Littlefield As Our Mayor - And Response (2)

Chattanooga is blessed beyond measure to have Ron Littlefield as our mayor.  It is a total travesty our city has had to endure the long frivolous battle with absolutely  no foundation other than disagreement with policy issues.  It has always been a vendetta directed personally at Mayor Littlefield which, if the "interveners" decide to appeal, will be a proven fact.   ...
