An autopsy report says pastor David Strong was stabbed multiple times in his side and beaten at his home.
It said he was found lying in the hallway of his home at 404 Glenwood Dr. on Sunday. He had been tied up at his wrists and ankles.
One of the men charged with his brutal murder, Antonio Henry, was being mentored by Rev. Strong, church members said.
A 16-year-old is also facing murder charges.
Hundreds of people attended a vigil at Warren Chapel AME Church in North Chattanooga on Wednesday honoring the 55-year-old pastor.
A musical tribute to the minister is scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. at St. Paul AME Church.
There will be a memorial service on Friday at 6 p.m. at St. Paul AME.
There will also be a memorial service Sunday at 6 p.m. at Ward Chapel AME Church in his hometown of Memphis.
The funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Ward Chapel.
