NSA Class “A” World Series Returning To Chattanooga In 2011

Thursday, December 02, 2010

The National Softball Association will return to Chattanooga in 2011, the Greater Chattanooga Sports & Events Committee and the Chattanooga Parks & Recreation Department announced. From July 24-30, 250 teams are expected to play in the Louisville Slugger Class “A” World Series and the 18U Showcase.

This marks the third consecutive year that Chattanooga has hosted either the NSA Class A or B World Series (A-2009 & B-2010).

Sports Committee President Scott Smith said, “It’s been great working with Hugh Cantrell and his staff over the past few years and we hope they continue to keep this event in Chattanooga for years to come.

It’s exciting to see all the teams out in the community eating at our restaurants and going to our attractions and shopping venues. Based on the way the Series is set up by pool play, the average stay is five nights. This results in a tremendous economic impact on our city, estimated at over $3.7 million.”

Along with the 18-Under Showcase, the “A” World Series will feature the following ages: 10-Under, 12-Under, 14-Under, and 16-Under. Games will be played at Warner Park and Frost Stadium, the Summit of Softball and Camp Jordan. The tournament format begins with pool play followed by a double-elimination tournament.

Debates Don't Decide Leadership Ability

I've watched how some in the media have attacked Scottie Mayfield for not debating. I've never been to a debate, and I am not going to vote for someone because they are able to remember and recite from memory, the well crafted answers they came up with the night before.   Often times, candidates focus on attacking each other instead of influencing undecided voters on any ...
