A house in Lookout Valley received extensive damage in an early-morning fire on Monday.
At 3:34 a.m., the Chattanooga Fire Department along with the Chattanooga Police Department and Hamilton County EMS responded to 134 Browns Ferry Road on a reported house fire.
When fire crews arrived a search was initiated, and it was determined that a family of five had evacuated the house safely.
Hose lines were used to quickly extinguish the fire. However, smoke and fire damage was extensive.
The Red Cross was called to provide shelter and clothing for the family.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
