My latest discovery is the Creamy Bean Factory located at 9408 Apison Pike. They are in the same center with Tractor Supply at Apison Pike and Ooltewah-Ringgold Road.
The menu sounds like a strange combination, but it works. Vivian doesn’t like anything out of the ordinary, so I had to make certain they offered something other than sushi (I’ll never get her to try sushi). She agreed to go when she learned they had paninis, soups and salads.
Some of the paninis sounded very interesting – Avocado Melt, Caprese, and Reubens (small paninis are $4.99 and large is $6.99). Vivian decided on the Chicken Gilroy. She loved it. Said it was one of the best sandwiches she had ever eaten, especially the bread. You can add dressings/condiments as you like. She also ordered a Grapefruit Frootie (orange, grapefruit, lemon and honey) priced at $3.99 and $4.99.
I ordered a bowl of Broccoli Cheese soup ($4.49, for a bit more you can get it in a bread bowl). This soup was very creamy and I would be willing to say it was one of the better Broccoli Cheese soups I have tried. I’ve noticed a lot of restaurants seem to water it down until it’s too thin and bland. This was wonderful. I hope they don’t change after they’ve been open for a while and start compromising the product.
To accompany my soup, I purchased sushi. This was the only thing we ordered that I really can’t say I was impressed with. I don’t know if it’s an “everyday” thing or not, but all the sushi was vegetarian on the day we were there. It was the rice I didn’t care for. It was the stickiest sticky rice I have ever encountered. It stuck to your fingers and was just overly sticky. I probably would not order that again.
The Creamy Bean Factory also offers Salads and subs, although on the day we were there, they had no salads. They have numerous juices with odd names (Adam and Eve, Funny Bunny, Hot Beets and others).
One of my favorite items was the house-made gelato and sorbet ($3.79 and $5.39). Vivian said with her Frootie, she didn’t want anything else, but since I didn’t eat much of my sushi, I had room for a gelato. I chose the Pistachio, which was delicious. I would drive back there just for the gelato! They also had a couple of sugar-free flavors.
The Creamy Bean Factory is a coffee lovers special place! They have cappuccino, Espresso, Mochas, and many others including French press. I have a feeling I will return to the Creamy Bean Factory.
Hours for the Creamy Bean Factory are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.; Friday 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.; Sunday 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Closed on Saturday.
