Cantrell Picks Up Papers To Run In County Commission 2 Race

David W. Cantrell has picked up papers to run as an Independent in the County Commission District 2 race.

Incumbent Richard Casavant, a Republican, has already qualified to seek a new four-year term.

Brenda Freeman Short of Glen Oaks Drive in Chattanooga has picked up papers for the Third District Congressional Race. She is a Democrat in a race crowded with Republicans.

New candidates for Tennessee Republican State Executive Committeeman, District 11, are Wes Kliner of McDonald, Royce Burrage of Red Bank and Joe Dumas of Signal Mountain. Bobby Wood of Harrison picked up earlier.

Hamilton County Woman Charged With TennCare Drug Fraud

A Hamilton County woman has been charged with trying to use the state’s public healthcare insurance program to pay for a forged prescription.
