The Urban League Young Professionals Association, The Creative Underground, Lindsay Street Hall and CreateHere, will host To Haiti With Love on Saturday, Feb. 20, a benefit concert to raise money for the relief effort in Haiti. The event will be held at Lindsay Street Hall from 7 p.m.-midnight.
“The Haiti earthquake, which occurred on Tuesday, Jan. 12, shook more than a country. It has moved many hearts here within our community to put our compassion into action,” said Chantelle Roberson, chair of the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga Young Professionals Association Civic Engagement Committee. “By bringing together our community’s diverse talents; we hope to raise $5,000 for Chattanooga’s Red Cross.”
Performances will include music, dance, spoken word and poetry. Additionally, the event will include a silent auction, DJ, dancing and a cash bar.
Tickets cost $10 and are available at the door the night of the event.
Confirmed performers include: Ben Friberg Trio, Milele Roots, Kofi Mawuko, Booker Scruggs, Chattanooga Choral Society for the Preservation of African American Song, Tyner Drumline, Mirabai Bellydance, Mt. Canaan New Spirit Praise Team, The Creative Underground, Rhyme and Chatt Poets and more being added daily.
DJ Treyzz will play for the after performance party.
