For the second straight week Lee University junior guard Brooke McKinnon has been named the Southern States Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
McKinnon opened the week with 16 points and five rebounds in the Lady Flames' 82-59 win at Columbia (S.C.) College. Against host Southern Wesleyan on Saturday, she poured in 29 points in just 28 minutes, fouling out with some eight minutes remaining.
For the week, McKinnon was blistering hot from the field, shooting 52 percent from 2-point range and an even better 57 percent from behind the arc.
The SSAC's leading free throw shooter hit 9-of-12 freebies and dished off six assist.
McKinnon and the 6th-ranked Lady Flames (21-2) will return to action on Wednesday, hosting Tennessee Temple University in a 6 p.m. start.
