Patton's 34 Points Lift Signal Mountain Past Yellow Jackets In Overtime

A pattern was set early in Monday's 6-A game between Signal Mountain and Lookout Valley. Signal Mountain would surge, then the Yellow Jackets would claw their way back, but Signal Mountain wound up winning 76-71 in OT.

The Eagles took an early lead, ending the first quarter with a 12-point advantage, 27-15. The Yellow Jackets fought their way back to within one at the half. The Eagles held a comfortable lead late in the fourth quarter, but the Yellow Jackets clawed back and put the game into overtime with a basket by Tyler Gay at the buzzer.

In the overtime period Signal Mountain again surged ahead, then held off a Yellow Jacket push to win by 5.

Jon Patton led the Eagles with 34 points. Luke Locke had 17 and Hogan Whitmire 15.

Stracey Bonner had 16 points for the Yellow Jackets. Delaney Heathington had 14 points, William Long had 12, Tyler Gay 11, and Tshombe Farmer 10.

Man Tells Police He Just Murdered His Wife

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt.
