Rock City's St. Patrick's Celebration Is March 13-14

Rock City’s third annual Irish celebration and festival featuring music and themed food will be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 13-14, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

From green fudge to a green waterfall, go green with Lucky Clover makeovers, specialty foods, green accessories and a green tea latte or green tea cappuccino from Starbucks.

Entertainment will be provided by Shamrock City favorites, the Molly Maguires, the Chattanooga Pipe Band, Celtic Plains, Casey Phillips & Butch Ross and OLTA. There will also be Irish jig lessons with Jeff Sandy.

Festivities are free with regular Rock City admission. An annual pass costs less than the price of two admissions, and enjoy a year’s worth of events.

Shamrock City is partnering with the Chattanooga district of the Muscular Dystrophy Association for this festival and is participating in the “Shamrocks Against Dystrophy Program.” Participants can purchase a green shamrock for $1 or a gold shamrock for $5 and help supply needed funds to aid local families with MD.

The event is sponsored by Big River Grille and Brewing Works.

Man Tells Police He Just Murdered His Wife

An Chattanooga man told police Monday night that he had just murdered his wife.  Police said Robert Lee Hardnett, 50. showed up at the County Jail to turn himself in at 8:40 p.m. He said his wife's body could be found at his place of employment, Power Supply Company, 1907 Daisy St.   Officers responded to that address and found the body of 34-year-old Elizabeth ... Red Bank Commissioners Choose Kenneth Welch To Replace Greg Jones; Jeno Won't Run Again

The four remaining members of the Red Bank Commission held a special called meeting on Tuesday and chose Kenneth Welch as the replacement for Vice Mayor Greg Jones, who moved to Alaska.
