Blaine “Jim” Crye, 89, of Cleveland, died Sunday morning, March 7, 2010 at the family residence.
Mr. Crye was the son of the late Mattie Hughes Crye and Marcus Crye. He was retired from Magic Chef after 37 years of service. Mr. Crye was a W.W.II veteran serving in the U. S. Army and he was a Veteran of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). Mr. Crye enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Community Hall Church.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Lillie Griffith Crye of Cleveland; his daughter, Judy Byrum and her husband Ron of Cheyenne, Wy.; his sons, Tom Crye and his wife Sharon and Kevin D. Crye all of Cleveland; his grandchildren, Cassandra Hamill, Caleb Crye, Shalan Beasley, Shane Tinsley, Ashlee Wright, Adam Byrum and Kelly Byrum; his great-grandchildren, Marc Tinsley, Tristan Hamill, Nathan Draper, Austin Draper, Shelby Beasley, Abby Beasley, Temperance Wright, Matthew Byrum and Cameron Byrum; his sister, Jo Robinson and her husband J. L. of Rossville; his brother, Marvin Crye and his wife Edith of Cleveland; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Wednesday, March 10 at 1 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Jeannie Cissom and Pastor Guinn Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Moores Chapel Cemetery with Mike Crye, Jack Mantooth, Caleb Crye, Robby Hamill, Shane Tinsley and Mack Beasley serving as pallbearers.
