Early Voting Is April 14-29

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Early voting in Hamilton County will be April 14-19.

There will again be three early voting sites.

They are:

Northgate Mall (next to the Science Theater on the Belk's end of the mall)

Brainerd Recreation Center

Election Office off Amnicola Highway

Hours for the election office are 8-6 on Monday-Friday and 9-6 on Saturdays.

Hours for the other two sites are 10-6 on Monday-Saturday.

The election office will be closed Friday, April 2.

Election officials said the governor's office has indicated that a writ of election for a Chancery Court vacancy will not be issued until after Chancellor Howell Peoples officially leaves office at the end of March.

It was indicated that the governor's office will then issue the writ in time for candidates to be on the ballot in August.

If the writ is issued quickly, it would not be necessary to have party caucuses.
