Polk County Falls in Class AA State Basketball Quarterfinals

The Polk County girls basketball team trailed for much of their Class AA state basketball quarterfinal but kept it close until late in the third quarter falling to South Greene 73-53.

South Greene took a 35-27 lead at the half.

Polk County would cut the lead to as little as five in the third quarter but South Greene held them off and went on to win big in the fourth quarter.

Hollie German led Polk County with 24 points and Alex Rogers had 16.

Polk County ends their season with a 28-7 record.

Red Bank Commissioners Choose Kenneth Welch To Replace Greg Jones; Jeno Won't Run Again

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt.
