Police made arrests in two burglaries that occurred at the same time late Thursday morning.
At approximately 11:40 a.m., a Chattanooga Police property crimes investigator saw several black males climbing through a window at a residence at 2300 North Chamberlain Ave.
As the investigator approached the residence, the three subjects started to flee. One suspect, Darius Jamel Oates, 31, of 616 E. 19th St., was apprehended on the scene.
Following a short foot pursuit, the other two suspects, both juveniles, were apprehended in the area by patrol officers.
All three were charged with aggravated burglary.
Officers in the Brainerd area responded to 4619 Montview Drive at approximately 11:44 a.m. after neighbors called in about suspicious activity and a possible burglary in progress.
A witness observed the suspects leaving in a vehicle prior to police arriving and called in a description. Officers spotted the vehicle in the 3900 block of Rogers Road, where the three parties fled the scene.
Police apprehended two of the suspects, Derrick Montrell Carnes, 27, of 1907 Duncan Ave., and Eddie Collins, 26, after receiving calls from concerned citizens about the suspicious parties running through the area.
Police said Carnes confessed to the burglary at 4619 Montview Dr. and also one at 122 Shawnee Trail. He was charged with two counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of theft and one count of vandalism.
The stolen property from both residences was recovered.
Possible charges are still pending on other people involved.
