Helen Morton, 52, of Cleveland, died on Wednesday evening, March 10, 2010 in a local hospital.
Her sister, Darlene Manning and her brother, Roger Dale Manning preceded her in death.
Helen was a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the V. F. W. Post 3990, the American Legion and Am vets Post 50. She enjoyed cooking, camping and spending time with her grandchildren, including going to the ball fields and watching them play ball. Helen was a grand lady and a woman of principle and she attended the Spring Place Road Church of God of Prophecy.
Survivors include her loving husband, Bob Morton of Cleveland; her daughter, Deshonna Cannon and her husband Paul; her son, Kenneth Morton and his wife Stephanie all of Cleveland; her grandchildren, Chassity Cannon, Paul Cannon Jr. and Derrick Morton all of Cleveland; her parents, William and Juelene Manning of Paris, Tx.; her sister, Donice Estep and her husband Randy of Denton, Tx.; her brother, Johnny Manning and his wife Crystal of Paris, Tx.; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Saturday, March 13 at 11 a.m. from the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Andy Cannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort Hill Veteran Section with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 12 at the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
