Middle school students will use robots they made from LEGO bricks to participate in the Adventist Robotics League Southern Challenge hosted by Southern Adventist University’s School of Computing, on Sunday, March 14, from 1:30-3 p.m. at the university's Iles P.E. Center.
About ten teams (a total of 85 students) have designed, built, and programmed autonomous robots that will perform tasks in response to a challenge course representing real-world problems.
This year’s theme is “Smart Move.” The challenge encourages students to learn about transportation. The missions include crossing a bridge, transporting passengers, and avoiding impacts.
The Adventist Robotics League is partners with First LEGO League and was developed to encourage the integration of technology and education.
