Hamilton County S.T.A.R.S. personnel, along with Chattanooga Police, have completed their search of the area around the railroad tracks at Hamill Road, police said Saturday morning.
No evidence was found that a pedestrian was struck by the Norfolk Southern train last night.
There was a three-hour search on Friday night after Norfolk Southern personnel said they believed a man was hit.
On Friday night, Chattanooga Patrol and K-9 officers, along with Norfolk Southern investigators and Chattanooga Fire Department personnel with thermal imaging devices, searched the train tracks at Hamill Road North to Adams Road at Hixson Pike for the possible victim.
Chattanooga Police Department’s Lt. Danna Vaughn coordinated with Hamilton County S.T.A.R.S. for the resumption of the search at first light.
Norfolk Southern officials had advised officers on the scene that they believed contact was made on the tracks closer to Hixson Pike.
