Community Tree Planting by VW Employees in Renaissance Park Sat. March 20th 9:00 a.m. – Noon VW Company employees will have the last of their 3 tree planting Saturdays at Renaissance Park on Sat. March 20th. A tulip poplar, the Tennessee state tree, will be planted next to a new public art sculpture of a poplar leaf. VW is very environmentally conscious and has secured funding to replenish trees at the assembly site and throughout the city. Summer Kidz Kamp “Early Bird Discount” now - April 1st
Pre-registration incentive offering the City’s popular day camp for $200.00 per child when signing up for the complete 8 week program. Parents who want to sign-up children for individual sessions can also do so but, will not get the discount. The regular price is $60.00 per child per 2-week session. Kidz Kamp is offered at the recreation centers June 1st – July 30th Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sign-up at desired recreation center location.

Outdoor Chattanooga and the TN Aquarium will host a beginners ‘touring’ kayak clinic tolearn proper paddling techniques, how to adjust, enter and exit a boat, safety guidelines and what to do if the kayak turns over. Cost is $25 ($20 for Aquarium members) and pre-registration is required. The clinic is appropriate for adults and kids ages 14 and older when accompanied by an adult. Class size is limited to 12.
