I struggle everyday to avoid drivers that come straight toward me on two lane roads before they quickly realize that they are about to hit me and swerve to miss me at the last minute. I can see them looking down at their cell phones. I just saw the most horrible email showing the wreck of a teenager who was sending a text to a friend when he hit an 18 wheeler head on and lost his life.
I now have a child on the road, and it absolutely scares me to death. I just made a phone call to him to remind him of this and that texting while driving is deadly. Parents please keep reminding your children of this regularly. It can save their lives or the life of someone else. I wish texting would be banned period for this reason alone.

Ms Barnes,
If you think it's bad driving a car, try riding a motorcycle everyday. Texting and cell phones are more dangerous than drunk drivers, especially in the hands of teenagers.
I have a son that will be driving in the next few years. There is a new ervice that will prevent texting and cell phone use in a vehicle. I will have this when the day comes.
