Cornerstone Bancshares Foundation Hosts Award Recipients Luncheon

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

The Cornerstone Bancshares Foundation recently hosted its annual Award Recipients Luncheon to honor its 2009 grant recipients including: First Things First, the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, Students Taking a Right Stand (STARS), Hope for the Inner City, and Shepherd’s Arms Rescue Mission.

Established by Cornerstone Community Bank in 2006, the Cornerstone Bancshares Foundation was created to broaden financial support for community-based, non-profit organizations and initiatives that create sustainable solutions to problems affecting three primary areas: youth at risk, education and economic/entrepreneurial development.

“It is a privilege to partner with these organizations and individuals serving our community each day,” said Cornerstone Bancshares Foundation Administrator Charlotte Lindeman. “We commend them for their dedication and hard work to strengthen the economic, social and educational foundations of the communities we serve.”

“Thanks to the Cornerstone Foundation grant, we have been able to provide healthy meals each week to more than 400 children in our area, through our Kids Café program,” said Chattanooga Area Food Bank President Clare Sawyer. “We are very grateful to Cornerstone for their support in helping us meet such a basic need in our community.”

Cornerstone Bancshares Foundation grants are awarded on an annual basis through an application and selection process. For further information about eligibility and guidelines, please visit www.thecornerstonefoundation.org or call Charlotte Lindeman at 423-385-3009.
