Sara Kelley and Morgan Mavity each had three RBI on Tuesday afternoon and Ooltewah defeated Central, 8-4, in a non-league high school softball game at Central.
Mavity had three RBI in the first inning as Ooltewah took a 4-0 lead. Kelley finished 2-for-4 with a home run for the Lady Owls, and Megan McCarter was 1-for-2 with a two-run double in the seventh.
Kelsey Chernak added a single for the Class AAA Lady Owls (1-0).
Sophomore Taylor Baird pitched a four-hitter for Ooltewah and struck out three.
Sophomore Shelby Willard gave up five hits for Class AA Central and struck out eight.
Willard also had a home run and single for the Lady Pounders (1-1) while Brooke Womack and Jessica Stoker had singles.
The game featured Ooltewah coach Norma Nelson against former player Leanne (Mongar) Shurette, Central's new coach.
