Bourg Fires 75 For Flames In Berry Tourney

ROME, Ga. - Kristin Bourg fired a 3-over par 75 on Tuesday and paced the Lee golf team to a seventh-place finish in the Berry College Women's Invitational.

In the 15-team event played at the Coosa Country Club, Bourg came back from an 82 on Monday to total 157 in the 36-hole tournament and her fifth-place finish earned the freshman from Fayetteville, Ga. a spot on the all-tournament squad. The University of the Cumberlands' McKenzie Price (75-82 - 157) joined Bourg on the all-tourney team.



Mobile's Maegan Rice carried home the medalist honor (73-74 - 147). Berry's Jayne Curtis (76-76 - 152) was second, while Ahmereen Hanayun (81-75 - 156) amd Esther Gandarias (75-81 - 156) tied for third and directed Shorter College (634) to first place in the team competition.

The Cumberlands (648) recorded a second-place team finish. Berry was third (655), Mobile (663) fourth, and West Georgia (671) rounded out the top-five places.

For Lee, Sloane Skinner (81-83 - 164) was 16th in the individual scoring. Amanda DeJiacomo (95-81 - 176) improved her second-day score by a remarkable 14 strokes. Chelsea Rakestraw (97-91 - 188) also picked up six strokes from her opening round.

The Lady Flames will be back on the links on March 29-30, traveling to Savannah to take part in the SCAD Women's Spring Invitational.

Man Tells Police He Just Murdered His Wife

Red Bank Commissioners Choose Kenneth Welch To Replace Greg Jones; Jeno Won't Run Again
