Well, I for one, would like for Winston to be free. Free Winston - the bulldog who chomped the patrol car of the officer running radar on Workman Road.
He was only doing what most all of us really wish to do when confronted by Chief Cooper's Finest toting radar.
Actually, instead of 'running radar' - maybe Chief Cooper could put more 'police resources' into combating the gang problem that - of course - doesn't exist in Chattanooga.
Then again, seeing as Winston has made the Chattanooga Police Department famous all over the world, how about just letting him loose?

In reading Ms Walsh’s article she states Winston has a history of similar attacks. When did they happen? I have not seen any more stories about him attacking other cars. If someone in the country wants him and will take care of him, let him go. It would appear she is looking for the opportunity to euthanize him which seems to be their policy.

The evil and barbaric pit bulls rise again. How pitiful is it, Chattanooga, that we are so irresponsible for our animals. We raise them to kill and attack, and then avert our eyes when they maul a pedestrian. We sure do love our pure breeds. But the minute they get on our nerves or mess in the house we take them to the local shelter. We make national news because a dog takes his aggression out on a police car, but no one mentions the lack of attention and compassion dogs get while housed as real live alarm systems, a surefire way to maul and attack any wrongdoer.
It's quite pathetic, really. Our streets are lined with animals on 5 foot chains and stuck in 17 degree weather yet we do nothing. Our shelters struggle with pet overpopulation yet we enact no spay/neuter laws. We're killing aggressive animals because their owners raised them inhumanely.
But, oh, don't we have a gorgeous waterfront, and isn't Riverbend going to be a blast? Here's a challenge, Chattanooga, get out of yourselves and start looking around at our local problems. Get over your conservative/liberal slants and wake up to the fact that life isn't peachy in the Scenic City. Don't make those who cannot speak for themselves suffer for your lack of care. I don't care if you're an animal lover or not, realize that animals know pain. They know neglect. I'm quite ashamed of what our actions have come to. Let's make amends to the animals (including pit bulls) that we have left.
