Red Bank Council Offers "Why Locate Your Business In Red Bank" Seminar

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

A seminar on the advantages of establishing a business in Red Bank will be held on March 30 in the Red Bank Community Center.

Sponsored by the Red Bank Council of the Chattanooga Area Chamber, “Why Locate Your Business in Red Bank” will offer a virtual tour of available Red Bank properties and information from Chamber and city of Red Bank representatives about doing business in Red Bank.

The program, which lasts from 5:30 - 7p.m., is free and open to the public.

“This will be an opportunity to share information about Red Bank with business owners who never seriously looked at basing their businesses here,” said Sandra Neal, marketing coordinator and small business specialist for Kerry Smith State Farm. “Red Bank has affordable space for rent, low taxes, great city services and is minutes from downtown Chattanooga, to name a few of the benefits.”

Red Bank business properties include office, retail and warehouse space for lease, Ms. Neal said. “Several buildings are also for sale, which may be an attractive option for some business owners or investors.”

Representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and the city of Red Bank will discuss the benefits of opening a business in Red Bank, explain how to obtain a Red Bank business license and describe the Chamber’s impact on the Red Bank community.

“As participants RSVP for the seminar, we’re asking what questions they’d like answered so that we can address any specific concerns they may have,” said Ms. Neal, who serves as communications officer for the Red Bank Council.

Participants will receive a packet that includes details about available properties in Red Bank, such as square footage, lease/purchase price, and whom to contact for more information. The information about properties, which has been researched over the past six months, will be available in printed form and on the Red Bank Council page of the Chamber website at www.chattanoogachamber.com.
The majority of the seminar will be devoted to a “virtual tour” of Red Bank’s available spaces, giving business owners a profile of each space complete with pictures. Many property owners and managers will be on hand to introduce their properties during the tour and meet with interested business owners after the seminar.

“Each business will have different needs, so what might be a perk for one business may not be as attractive for another,” Ms. Neal said. “Some businesses might need lots of parking space, others might like to be in a high-traffic area, and others may need plenty of extra square footage to store their products or supplies. Our hope is that each business owner at the seminar finds at least one space that will fit his or her unique needs.”

Chamber Marketing Vice President J.Ed. Marston pointed out that the Chamber of Commerce often works with businesses that are considering opening their doors in the Chattanooga area. “Having access to this information will enable the Chamber to offer more options to incoming businesses and increase interest in Red Bank properties.”

The Red Bank Council board has developed a brochure to attract businesses and families to Red Bank. This brochure is being produced in partnership with the city of Red Bank and will be available for the seminar.

“Through a variety of channels, this brochure will be distributed to individuals and businesses planning to relocate to the Chattanooga area,” Ms. Neal said.

Seating at the seminar is limited; R.S.V.P. to Ms. Neal at 423.870.1809 or sandra.neal.mh6e@statefarm.com.

Light refreshments will be provided by the Red Bank Neighborhood Pride Association. The Red Bank Community Center is located behind Erlanger North on Tom Weathers Drive.

Thoughts On The Mathews Sentencing

It is not by coincidence I haven’t submitted an opinion piece in some time to the Chattanoogan.  The topics I cover are generally vitriolic in regards to local political decisions and their makers regarding public safety and I do not wish to associate my name with more noble subjects such as that of the heroic death and cowardly murder of Chattanooga Police Sergeant Tim Chapin, ... Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt. Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
