An employee of Extended Stay of America on Airpark Drive told police he was beaten.
James Reel said two men hit him in the head with crowbars.
He said he was coming out of the laundry room when the pair attacked him.
He said they tried to get his wallet, but he kept hanging onto it.
A video showed the men punch the employee in the face in the laundry room, then drag him out and away from the camera's view.
The assailants were identified as:
-5'6", 160 pounds wearing a blue hoodie and black pants with a white stripe
-black male, 5'6", 150 pounds, wearing an orange and brown polo shirt and a red toboggan. He had medium-length dreadlocks.
Police found the victim's wallet and glasses on the floor along with a red toboggan.
The employee was bleeding from the head and had cuts on him. He was taken by ambulance to Erlanger Hospital.

Alexis Shadwick said she and John Doub were arguing over money on Dayton Boulevard.
She said he had a baseball bat and started toward her. She said she quickly got into her car and tried to drive away.
But she said he hit the trunk lid of her 1998 Ford Mustang, causing over $500 in damage.
Doub, 24, of Soddy Daisy, was charged with vandalism over $500.

Cynthia O'Dell said someone broke out a window on her 1991 Olds while she was inside Target on Highway 153.
Her purse was taken.
A video shows a white or silver Lincoln Town Car pull up beside the Mustang. Someone wearing a light-colored hoodie got out and smashed the window.

On 12th Avenue, a black male was seen running in the rear of a house carrying a green purse.
The man fled into an alley, while dropping the purse.
Edjar Mencho said he was asleep when his house was burglarized.

Also on 12th Avenue, a man was seen walking along carrying two city No Parking signs.
Mitchell Locke, 43, of Cleveland, said the signs had been on the shoulder of the road and he was taking them in for scrap.
Police found where the signs had been pulled from two newly dug holes.
Officers said Locke was extremely intoxicated. He was taken to the jail on charges of public intoxication and theft under $500.

The manager of the Wynnsong Theater on Gunbarrel Road said a customer paid for a movie with a counterfeit $20 bill.
He said the man was still inside - watching the movie.
Police questioned Robert Elliott, who said he is a chiropractor who had gotten the $20 from the office's petty cash box. He apologized and said he had no idea that it was a fake $20.
He had no other bills on him and was cleared to return to the movie.

Police were told there was a burglary in progress on Pine Marr Drive.
They found that James Nelson had knocked a back window out of a residence.
He told officers he was a neighbor trying to rescue a stranded cat. He said the neighbor had died and the cat had been stuck in the garage for three days.
Officers tried to help with the cat rescue. In the process, one got bitten on the hand.
A McKamey Animal Center officer was summoned to take the cat away.
